Walt : edit my Precious McKenzie writing independently to identify errors and get my work ready for Book Creator publishing.

I was able to find the words that had red lines under them and I went and corrected my spelling mistakes and make sure I had used capital letters in the right places eg. names, places, beginning of sentences.

Next time I will re-read my sentences to make sure no words were missed out and my sentences made sense and use a dictionary/internet to correct my spelling errors.

Wonder language feature

Walt : recognize and understand specific language features.

I was able to understand the meanings of different types of language features eg. personification, idioms and take my time and think carefully about the different language features that the author used.

Next time I will re-read the part in the story where I thought there was a specific language feature and used sticky notes to help me remember what each language feature meant and listen carefully to the words and phrases in the story Wonder

Wonder perimeter

Walt : calculate the perimeter and area of shapes

I was able to find area by multiplying the length and width of the shapes and add or multiply the length of each part of the shape.

Next time I will calculate the area and perimeter accurately by knowing my basic facts.

Speech 2017

WALT: deliberately choose words to create an effect on the audience

My Reflection

I was able to I was able to use persuasive and emotive words in my speech.

Next time I will think of a different and more interesting topic to make my speech about.

Decimals

WALT: use a variety of strategies to solve problems that involve decimal numbers.

My Reflection

I was able to rename the 0.3 to 0.30 so that both numbers had 2. Add the hundredths first eg. right to left - hundredths, tenths, ones, tens and so on for Written strategy.Add the whole numbers first eg. 2 + 4 = 6 then I convert the 0.30 and 0.35 into fractions and add the whole number and decimal numbe together for Mental strategy.

Next time I will try something way harder then this and I need to practices putting the numbers in the right place and in line, I also need use a ruler to rule twice. Write a bigger equation eg. 593.34 + 698.56 = 1191.90.
